It is a still-life that features an unusual subject group, including a mixture of foliage (Scarlet Oak, Barberry), root vegetables (carrot, turnip, radish), berries (strawberry, cranberry and blueberry), fruit (kiwi, orange, banana, pear, apple, lemon), a partially shelled ear of field corn, a Butternut squash, a head of lettuce, an egg, New England asters, a bottle and glass of wine, and an candlestick with a flame that casts hard shadows behind the objects.
